The new Kwantlen Street Farmers Market site is now live and I’m happy to have been a part of getting this WordPress site designed, developed and launched. With a lot of source material and imagery to work from, this site was built to showcase the farmers market as a fun public event for Kwantlen University local community here in Richmond, BC.
This was really an inspiring project to work on. The whole team at the Kwantlen University Student Association put in a tremendous amount of work to get the public market off the ground and this year they really wanted to push it to a new level by launching a new site to go along with the open air event that happens once a week at the Kwantlen University Richmond campus. One of the things that made this project special was that it’s so close to home. I drive past the university close to everyday, this is the same university (back then a college) that I attended when I was learning design and illustration.
The site features a full responsive experience, with a design included for extra-large screens and a collapsible menu throughout the site. Custom built pages and a set-up that allows for easy additions to vendor profiles and recipes with simple WordPress ‘post’ additions make it easy for users to add custom content as the market season progresses.
