I’ve just finished a new site development and design for Bubble Maid Pro Cleaning Services here in Vancouver. Bubble Maid cleaning provides both residential and commercial cleaning as well as post construction cleaning services.
When Bubble Maid approached me to help out with their site design they had a few interesting challenges – The site had to be bilingual and it had to integrate with WeChat, a popular mobile social platform. With a Using the WordPress platform and Genesis framework, it was actually pretty easy to set-up a main landing page which branches into separate home pages for each language and creating separate menus for each as well.
The site needed a clean mobile design, which again wasn’t a problem, since we went through a full round of design ideas before committing to development. I took the mobile approach and kept everything as clean and simple as possible, testing along the way to make sure designs worked on all platforms, desktop, mobile, tablet and phone, both for iOS and Android.
I found a few new (to me) plugins to use as well, one of my new favourites is Mobble which automatically adds platform, devices and browser classes to the body tag on your pages… it actually does a whole lot more than just that, but on this project, this is mainly what I used it for, a real time saver and super useful.
